Episode 20: The Printer Trap

It is a good day! Not only does this episode mark 5 months, it is out the day after recording. That is a record for us and it is also just in time for the holiday. We got lots of prints done this last week and some great information is shared. Let us know if you like it!

We hope you enjoy and if you do take a moment to moment to follow us on SoundCloud,Twitter,YouTube, Instagram or Facebook. You can also provide a little out-of-pocket support my being a patron.

Let us debate

We changed the recording time again, and also changed up how some things are done and I feel that we are really dialing the process in. As a matter of fact things went so well that I feel like I do not need to edit the episode at all. I will verify this once I give it a second listen today and if that is the case there is a holiday surprise waiting for everyone (and its not even the "holidays").

My wife and I went over to Andrews last night and partook in his early Memorial Day BBQ and get togther. Not only was the food really good, the company was great, and we had fun as well. Thanks to Andrew and his wife for hosting!

There was one piece of news that I was wanting to cover this podcast which deals with art and 3D printing. Specifically: Is 3D printed art really art? This is such a good debate topic that I think it is better that we go over it later. I find these art debate topics interesting and I feel we could possibly do a whole episode on it because this is something that the video game industry went though years ago, and in some degree still goes though today. I can think of a few people that I would like in on the discussion as well. Who knows maybe a panel or round table show? I know this is ambitions, but I have some local artists in mind and think it would make for something special. I would like to hear your thoughts on if you think 3D printed art is really art by posting your thoughts on Twitter. Be sure to tag me (@NoImSoddOff) and use hashtag #Is3dPrintingArt. I am interested to see what you all think.

As always the articles we did not cover is posted below, and thank you for stopping by!

Episode 19: You Printin' To Me?

Another week has come and gone and it is time to get Episode 19 released. We talk about new printers, games, and of course Star Wars. We even managed to go over the hour mark, and that was without knowing the laptop, at some point, chopped out about 10 minutes of raw audio, never to be heard from again. Thankfully it was nothing to important, and did not affect the out come of the episode.

Just think, next week will mark 5 months that we have been doing this, and it is all for you! We hope you enjoy and if you do take a moment to moment to follow us on SoundCloud,Twitter,YouTube, Instagram or Facebook. You can also provide a little out-of-pocket support my being a patron.

Thank you, we are grateful!

Danger Zome

Another weekend is upon us. This happens to be a long holiday weekend for most of us in the US and I plan on spending mine testing filament, writing up a review on my new printer, and just hanging out and letting off a little stress. Oh, ya and plan Overwatch. Since my wife and I have been binge watching Archer, I figured the title of the post would reflect it, much like the title of everything I do. If you have not see Archer, and don't mind animated series's then it is one to watch for sure. It may take a few episodes to understand allot of what is going on, but when you do you will be hooked.

Anyways, enough Archer pimping. Time to post the articles we did not have time to cover in the podcast and get to Overwatching!

Thanks for stopping by!

I've been sitting here thinking about trying to start a blog, Joe has one and throughout my Sunday I have been printing, calibrating, playing with kiddos, doing household type things, finally getting around to putting the past episodes of the podcast on YouTube, I have opened WordPad and stared at the screen trying to think of what to do and how to do it. So here we are, Hi! Welcome take a seat and buckle up. What has been going on with me? Well as I sit here waiting for videos to render and watching Big Bang Theory (My go to show when I cant figure out what to watch) and I'm waiting for this week's Game of Thrones to air, I am printing parts for the Davinci's as I said above I spent some time calibrating both machines and think they are printing acceptable prints for working parts. I always think of all the cool things I could print and make a mental note of it to print in the future or add it to one of my many collection lists on Thingiverse, but alas most of my prints end up being calibration cubes, The Marvin keychain from 3D Hubs, and printer parts trying to improve and reconfigure the printers. Which make me both laugh and sad at the same time. Laugh because when I thought of getting a printer the following weeks were filled with trolling Thingiverse and telling my wife about all the things I will print and for the most part not a lot of useful things come off the build plates, sad because I am fortunate enough to own and be a part of the amazing community that is 3D printing and I should be doing more to improve the printers I own to benefit the community that owns the same printers that I do. So I think I will try more to be a contributing party rather than relying on it to better my own experience..... But my desk is very nerdy and cool looking with all the trinkets that decorate it from the printers :). It is getting late and I need to get to bed....and Game of Thrones should be ready for watching, so until next time keep the printers melting plastic and rebel scum out of those trenches.

Ready for the weekend

Just finished editing this weeks podcast. Sounds good for sure, but of course I am biased. :D

My computer is harassing me to reboot to update, but I don't want to! I am sure it will make me here soon... stupid windows and it's need to update.

So, I have been anti-social media forever, but I have been seeing a few things that have been tempting me and here yesterday I finally got to the point and I broke down and did it. Twitter and Instagram. Don't expect much from them, I am mostly there to browse, or as they would say back in my day: lurk.

Thanks for checking in as always and I will see you next week!
