Less talk on gaming this week and more of a focus on printers. Heck there was not even a Star Wars reference, what the heck! We made it up by talking time to answer some listener questions though, so that should count for something right?

We are still working on getting all the episodes up on YouTube, and we hope to have that done by next week. Please be patient with Andrew.

Time for the gratuities plugs: Take a moment to follow us on SoundCloudTwitterYouTubeInstagram and/or Facebook. In addition, if you can afford it, go to Patreon to provide us some additional monthly support. You can also spread the work on the show by telling your friends.

Thank you!

Just a quickie

I feel that we have things down when we record on Saturday. The amount of time it takes to get things wrapped and out the door is a far cry from where it was which I, and my wife, are happy about.

I started my physical therapy this last week, and I have to say my ankle pain has reduced. Andrew also got a server that I am working on (as I type this actually) which will be our new Minecraft server! Finally, this weeks episode is being compiled in the background as I type this. As always there is a decent amount of news and some refreshers on beginner tips.

Thanks for stopping by, and any articles that did not make the recording are below.

Episode 23: Shadows of the Printer

Printing, E3, Gaming. These are the things we like and take time to talk about all kinda of things. While this weeks episode is shorter than the monster 2 hours episode of last week, we still get you all the hot talk you have come to expect and just in time for the beginning of the week! This week ended in a cliffhanger. What? Why? Well listen and then check back next week to find out the deal is.

More episodes will be available on YouTube soon.

Please, do us a HUGE favor and take a moment to follow us on SoundCloudTwitterYouTubeInstagram and/or Facebook. In addition, if you can afford it, go to Patreon to provide us some additional monthly support. You can also spread the work on the show by telling your friends.

Thanks you everyone!

Watch that first step

Hello listeners, new and old alike! This week ended in pain. Lots of pain. Physical pain. Since you may not be aware, 4 years ago I fell from a ladder at work, and as a result broke my calcaneus (heel). While I have a very high pain tolerance; the pain I went though during and since the break has, at times, been damn near unbearable. It seems like the more I use it (standing, climbing, walking, etc.) the more time I need to take to recover. I know that the break is supposed to be life changing, but like most people I don't like change. :) Thankfully I am starting a new round of physical therapy here on Monday and I hope to get better, but only time will tell.

Besides the pain, I think I figured out what was causing be issues with my MeCreator 2. In the front right corner there are some wires that go to the LED lights. Those wires were catching on one of the plugs that hold the belt gears in place on the Y rod. Since I have moved the cables out of the way, there has not been any issues so far, and I am almost 4  hours into an 18 hour print. *fingers crossed*

Anyways that is enough about me. Thanks for stopping by, and any articles that did not make the recording are below.

First let me start by saying 'Welcome to all the new listeners'. This week we have a treat for you in the form or a longer run time! This weeks episode clocks in at just under 2 hours. You would figure that we cover all the things, be we still managed to miss something!

The thing we mess was a well deserved thank listener Bobby Willhite for contacting us and letting us know about the original use of the milk based 3d scanner. We thought that is was wonderful because its root actually lie in gaming.

While we go over this in the podcast, we have been working on revising the Print of the Month, and should be able to reveal it next week if everything goes well.

Besides that, there has also been talk about moving the release day to Monday rather than Friday. This is a while 4 days sooner, which means some of the things we talk about will still be relevant! ;)

This weeks image is by DimaDerzhavin. It looks so awesome and we think really goes with the episodes title.

Lastly, do us a HUGE favor and take a moment to follow us on SoundCloudTwitterYouTubeInstagram and/or Facebook. In addition, if you can afford it, go to Patreon to provide us some additional monthly support. You can also spread the work on the show by telling your friends.

Thanks you everyone!

Better, faster, longer

Some explanation on the title:

  • Better: The podcast is improoving each time we record
  • Faster: We are able to get the podcast out sooner
  • Longer: This weeks episode is going to be about 2 hours.

Two hours you may ask? Yes, and it was not even forced. It just happened. There was enough to talk about and happened organically. While we could break this up into two episodes, I don't feel like there is a need since we are able to do more in the same amount of time. This means we get the time off we need, while still making the happy sounds you like.

I will be posting my review of the MeCreator 2 on Amazon and on here this week. This will require the addition of a new "Reviews" section so keep an eye out for that.

Besides that I hope everyone is having a great weekend, and has a good week.

Episode 21: Is This Your Print?

21! Blackjack! Yahtzee! Wait... Ok, maybe it is not a noteworthy number, but its something! We accomplished quite a bit and as always talk filament, 3d printing, news and non-news things. We are finding that the new recording time is working and we feel the format is really getting dialed in. We would love to hear your thoughts!

Don't get your hopes up because even though they are in this weeks image, neither Chris Hardwick or Thomas Lennon are part of the podcast. That is not to say we would turn them away if they wanted to be, but I am sure they have their own projects that keep them busy. :D Maybe Thomas Lennon could be persuaded with $240 worth of pudding, and Chris Hardwick may be enticed by being offered the after show. ;)

What lurks in the darkness?

I had the episode all wrapped in Saturday evening, but I wanted to give it a few listens before posting just to make sure there was nothing strange lurking in the darkness. I have to admit I like the new recording time, and format. It really is making things easier on me. I know we had a listener offer to edit, and I appreciate the offer. It is not that I don't have faith in other people's editing skills (I am sure everyone has better 'skillz' than I do), but I wanted to make sure everything on OUR end was all in line. There are still some things I think we need to focus on, and in reality it just comes down to the minor speech issues which I think come with time.

With all that said I may move the release date to earlier in the week, but I want to see how things go. I think I will know for sure by episode 26. Stay tuned.

I do want to take a moment and thank listener Bobby W for sending us a nice message though our site about the milk scanner we talked about in episode 15. Evidently the milk scanner goes back much farther than its use for 3d printing. Quite interesting!
